Conveniently located to serve the areas of New Jersey and New York
The LaseMD Ultra laser from Lutronic is a non-ablative laser designed for skin rejuvenation, treatment of skin pigmentation changes and hair restoration. Using state-of-the-art technology, it does not break the skin barrier. Instead, it creates tiny thermal zones that cause controlled damage from the inside out, making it a perfect treatment option for skin rejuvenation and hair growth stimulation with Keralase.
A notable advantage of LaseMD Ultra is its suitability for patients of all skin types. Moreover, patients can receive treatment throughout the year, including the summer months, when other treatments may be restricted due to sun exposure concerns. What Makes a Fractional Laser Different?
Lutronic’s LaseMD Ultra is a state-of-the-art fractional non-ablative laser. Unlike traditional laser resurfacing techniques that treat the entire surface of the skin, fractional lasers work by delivering targeted laser energy into microscopic treatment zones. These zones create small columns of thermal damage within the skin, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin fibers.
There are two main treatment types: LaseMD Ultra for skin resurfacing, and Keralase for hair regrowth and restoration.
LaseMD Ultra
LaseMD Ultra utilizes fractional laser technology to stimulate collagen production and improve the overall appearance of the skin. It can address a wide range of skin concerns, including pigmentation removal, scar reduction, and anti-aging effects. Whether you are seeking to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, even out your skin tone, or enhance the texture and elasticity of your skin, LaseMD can help you achieve your desired results.
Lutronic’s LaseMD Ultra is a Fractional Thulium Laser (FTL) that emits laser energy at 1927 nm in microbeams. The LaseMD Ultra system fires in fast fractionated pulses to prevent overlap with multiple passes. When providers move the handpiece at a slower rate, the laser then pusles at a slower rate and vice versa. This allows complete control over the treatment. (1)
What Can LaseMD Ultra Treat?
With LaseMD Ultra, there are four different treatment modalities tailored to specific skin conditions:
- UltraGlo – UltraGlo treatment offers a comprehensive range of benefits to improve your skin texture, tone, and overall complexion. Designed to be suitable for all skin tones and textures, this treatment modality offers gentle skin resurfacing. When the skin is affected by the laser, the micro-channels created make the skin more susceptible to skincare products and “boosters” that can be added to the treatment for comprehensive rejuvenation.
- Pigmentation Issues/Melasma – Hyper and hypopigmentation are often caused by sun damage, genetics, and the aging process. LaseMD Ultra can be programmed to target colors in the skin, breaking them up and diminishing their hue. The laser emits precise wavelengths of light, which are absorbed by the melanin pigment in the skin. This targeted energy breaks down the excess melanin, allowing the body’s natural healing process to gradually eliminate the pigmented cells.
- Acne – If you are struggling with acne and its associated concerns such as acne scars or hyperpigmentation, consider LaseMD’s acne modality. The laser gently heats the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for healthier, clearer-looking skin. It can also target the bacteria and inflammation that cause active acne and can be used in problem areas such as the cheeks and forehead.
- Anti-Aging/Skin Resurfacing – Achieve a radiant, younger-looking complexion with LaseMD’s ability to even out skin tone and improve overall clarity, leaving your skin looking fresh and vibrant. To reduce the appearance of wrinkles and tighten the skin, LaseMD Ultra offers many options. Laser energy encourages collagen and elastin fiber formation to rejuvenate the skin from the inside out.
With this many options for skin rejuvenation, our patients have the opportunity to customize their treatments to meet their exact needs.
Keralase
For patients with thinning hair, a combination of LaseMD Ultra and KeraFactorMD growth factors can promote hair regrowth. Growth factors refer to a group of cellular signaling proteins that play a crucial role in various biological processes. These remarkable molecules are responsible for initiating and regulating tissue repair, wound healing, cell growth, and development.
After LaseMD Ultra treatment, the practitioner applies the KeraFactor serum containing micro-liposomes that initiate hair growth. This two-in-one treatment stimulates the skin by preparing microchannels with the laser which are then flooded with hair-activating serum.
During the hair growth cycle, follicle development is influenced by cellular signaling molecules. The growth factors in KeraFactor serum promote hair growth by communicating with cells already present in the body, controlling the fate of the present cells by incorporating growth factors that patients are missing. Who is Keralase For?
Keralase treatments are ideal for patients with active and healthy hair follicles who are looking for hair thickening and revitalization without receiving a hair transplant. The treatment stimulates natural hair growth while improving the overall quality of the scalp’s skin. We recommend a 6-session procedure plan to reap all the benefits of this combined treatment.

Candidates for LaseMD Ultra and Keralase Treatments
Candidates for LaseMD Ultra have:
- Skin Pigmentation Issues
- Wrinkles and Fine Lines
- Textured Skin
- Dull Skin
- Acne
Candidates for Keralase have:
- Thinning Hair
LaseMD Ultra is suitable for all skin tones and sensitivity levels and is safe for all skin types and colors. You cannot receive treatments if you have active skin cancer or a skin infection. To receive Keralase hair restoration treatment, patients must have active hair follicles where the hair is thinning. The area cannot be treated if it is already completely bald. Please inform Dr. Ovchinsky of any preexisting conditions that may impact your ability to heal. If you smoke, please refrain from the use of tobacco and nicotine for at least 4 weeks before your initial appointment.
Personal Consultation with Dr. Ovchinsky
Dr. Ovchinsky meets with each patient privately to discuss their treatment options. He will ask about your skin concerns, what you want to gain, and perform an examination of the treatment area. Please come to this appointment prepared to speak about your medical history, including all previous treatments and procedures. Using this information, Dr. Ovchinsky will then make a detailed treatment plan that fits your cosmetic goals.

Preparation
In addition to a good skincare routine, there are pre-operative instructions that you should follow diligently before your treatment. This may include discontinuing the use of certain medications or supplements that can thin the blood and increase the risk of complications during the procedure. You should stop smoking and nicotine use in the weeks leading up to the treatment and throughout the recovery period. Even though LaseMD Ultra treatments can be performed any time of the year including summer, it is still a good practice to minimize sun exposure and protect your skin from the sun both before and after fractional laser treatment. We strongly recommend sunscreen usage to prevent any damage or pigmentation issues that may arise from sun exposure. On the day of your treatment, it is important to cleanse the treatment area thoroughly. This ensures that the skin is free from any dirt, oils, or makeup that may interfere with the effectiveness of the laser treatment.
Please arrive at your Keralase treatments with clean, dry hair free of product.
In certain cases, Dr. Ovchinsky may apply a numbing agent. Though not usually painful, many patients feel slight irritation during the procedure. Each treatment takes around 30 minutes to complete, allowing you time to get back to your day as usual immediately afterward.
Recovery & Results
LaseMD Ultra and Keralase treatments are minimally invasive, meaning there is usually little to no downtime. Patients can come in during their lunch break, receive the UltraGlo treatment, and go right back to work afterward with only a little bit of redness. In rare instances, we see more swelling and redness which usually resolve within a few days. Patients often see results right away after facial lasering.
For Keralase treatment, your results will take longer to become evident. You must wait for the hair follicle cycle to complete before you see new growth. Therefore, we recommend repeated sessions to acquire your desired results. Most patients require a 6-session treatment plan spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart to truly benefit from both the laser and the serum application.

FAQ
What is different about fractional lasers?
The key difference lies in the way the laser energy is delivered. Fractional lasers create microscopic columns of thermal injury, leaving surrounding areas untouched. This fractional approach allows for faster healing and reduces the risk of complications compared to traditional lasers.
How many fractional laser treatments do I need before I see results?
Patients often notice an improvement in their skin after just one treatment. To maintain desired results, and depending on the treatment modality, patients may opt for a series of treatments to keep their skin looking fresh and luminous.
Can UltraGlo laser treatments help with sunspots?
Yes. UltraGlo laser treatments diminish the appearance of sunspots, freckles, and mild to moderate age spots. These treatments brighten the skin and reduce unwanted texture as well.
