Out of State / International
Dr. Ovchinsky has welcomed numerous patients from all over the U.S. and beyond! From Texas to Canada, his out-of-state patient list continues to grow; and we would love to have you become a part of it. That’s why we’ve provided a breakdown of our process.
Although Dr. Ovchinsky offers virtual consultations, you are required to see him in person prior to a surgical procedure.

Prior To Surgery Date
Although Dr. Ovchinsky offers virtual consultations, you are required to see him in person prior to a surgical procedure. This applies to all things surgical, including but not limited to: rhinoplasties, facelifts, otoplasties, blepharoplasties, and more. An in person visit will give you an opportunity to meet the doctor, once again go over surgical details and get all your questions answered. It will also give Dr. Ovchinsky an opportunity to get to know you better and to conduct a thorough physical examination, which is often quite limited during virtual consultations.
To avoid any delays or setbacks, we require each patient to fly into New Jersey 2 days prior to their surgery date. This allows for a smooth process without any additional time restraints or pressures. It also gives you an opportunity to meet the doctor in person before your surgery. In addition, it allows for more flexibility in case of flight delays or cancellations.
When you come for your consultation, you will meet with Dr. Ovchinsky in our Short Hills office located below.

On the day of your surgery, you should arrive 1.5 hours early. This will be necessary to get you prepared for anesthesia, go over the protocol, and fill out paperwork.
Please remember to wear loose-fitted clothing, preferably with the front zipper/ buttons, to avoid any discomfort after the procedure.
Post Surgery
A third-party person or service such as Uber or Lyft may drive you to your surgery. However, they may not pick you up. You must have a trusted friend, family member, or nurse pick you up and bring you home.
If you are in need of aftercare with a nurse, we are happy to provide you with their contact information or offer our best recommendation.
All patients who get their surgeries are not advised to travel back home by plane that same day. It is recommended to stay local for the next week to monitor the healing process. Depending on the procedures that Dr. Ovchinsky has performed, you may need to have a post-op visit a few days after surgery or 7 days after your surgery. Our staff will help make arrangements with you in order to keep your health and safety our top priority.
