What is THERMI-Tight?
THERMI-Tight is a minimally invasive treatment that utilizes radiofrequency energy to heat up the undersurface of the skin using a tiny (needle like) blunt radiofrequency probe. The main idea behind this treatment is that our skin collagen gets stimulated, reorganizes and tightens when it gets heated up to about 50-60C.
This change in collagen leads to tightening of the skin as well as to improving skin elasticity as new collagen continues to form. In addition, fat deposits in the treatment area are melted away and the liquified fat is then washed out and reabsorbed by the body systems. This combination of skin tightening, improving skin elasticity and decreasing excess fat is what gives patients great results with minimal invasiveness and minimal downtime. That’s what makes THERMI-Tight the perfect finishing touch after a liposuction procedure!

Ideal Candidate
You are a candidate for THERMI-Tight procedure if you have some skin laxity and/or fat excess in multiple areas of the face, which are bothersome enough to do something about, but not bothersome enough (or you are not willing for any reason) to undergo surgery. In other words, if you are a so called “In-Between” patient.
How is THERMI-Tight Performed?
First, the areas to be treated are outlined with a marker. The skin is then cleansed with an antiseptic. Sites are marked and injected with small blebs of local anesthetic. Once the area is all numb and ready to be treated, a small blunt radiofrequency probe is introduced under the skin. The radiofrequency energy is then delivered via this probe to heat up the undersurface of the skin to about 55-60C. At the same time (and this is unique to THERMI-Tight) the temperature at the skin surface is monitored by a special high-resolution infrared camera to make sure that the skin doesn’t get too hot. The temperature can vary from patient to patient depending on skin thickness, amount of extra fat, and other factors. The prescribed temperature is set by Dr. Ovchinsky to ensure a comfortable yet effective treatment for each patient. The procedure takes about 1 hour (depending on the area(s) treated).
THERMI-Tight is the perfect addition to your minimally invasive rejuvenation treatment plan, addressing wrinkle reduction, contouring and skin tightening in efficient and minimally invasive fashion.

Faqs
Is the treatment painful?
There is some discomfort associated with injection of local anesthetic. Afterwards, there should be no pain at all during the procedure. There is usually minimal to no pain after the procedure. If there is some pain or discomfort, regular Tylenol should be sufficient to make you comfortable.
Will I be bruised or swollen after?
The degree of swelling is patient dependent and may range from minimal to no swelling to a more noticeable swelling that may last for a few days. Wearing skin elastic support and staying more upright allows for the swelling to resolve quicker. Some bruising is not uncommon, however this should resolve within a few days after the procedure.
When will I see the results?
While some patients report improvement even within the first month after treatment, maximum improvement can take 3-6 months. This is how long it usually takes for the collagen to start remodeling. The improvement may continue as the time goes on as new collagen stimulated by the treatment continues to form.
How many treatments will I need?
Usually one treatment is required, however this may vary from patient to patient depending on the degree of skin laxity, fat excess, quality of the skin, and general health status.
