About Our Elixirs

Our elixir treatments are designed to help each patient restore and improve the appearance of their skin. Through the use of the body’s natural mechanisms, these minimally invasive elixir treatments can deliver significant results with little to no downtime required. These elixirs are designed to be applied after a skin resurfacing treatment when the skin’s microchannels are open so that these formulas can be absorbed deep into the skin.

Topical Sculptra

Topical Sculptra is a type of elixir that is used to stimulate the production of collagen in the body to help restore one’s skin quality. Sculptra is composed of a biodegradable polymer called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that is FDA-approved to help treat a variety of concerns (1), offering gradual results and consistently improving enhancements over time following the procedure.

Topical Platelet-Rich Plasma

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be used as a topical treatment to enhance wound healing and offer skin rejuvenating properties. This treatment utilizes the platelets and growth factors found in the blood of each patient to help revitalize and regenerate the healing of the scalp and skin, and can even reduce inflammation. (2)

Topical Rejuran

Rejuran is a skin rejuvenation treatment that utilizes polydeoxyribonucleotides, also known as PDRN, to help improve the overall health and quality of one’s skin. PDRN can naturally be found in salmon DNA and when applied, is used to help stimulate the production of collagen, as well as promote tissue regeneration by restoring and repairing cells. (3)

Topical Exosomes

Exosomes are tiny membrane structures that are composed of proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. When applied to the skin, this treatment can help rejuvenate the skin, improve communication between cells, and promote wound healing. This treatment is also highly beneficial for tightening facial tissue.

Benefits

Each of our elixirs offers a variety of unique benefits tailored toward each patient, enhancing both their appearance and self-esteem. While each procedure has differing advantages and benefits, both treatments offer significant, lasting results with little to no downtime required.

Benefits of Topical Sculptra

Patients interested in topical Sculptra are those who would like to improve the texture and quality of their skin. Topical Sculptra can help restore the elasticity and quality of the skin through its collagen-stimulating properties. The results of Sculptra are gradual, meaning that patients can see continued improvements and effects for a continued period.

Benefits of Topical PRP

Those interested in our topical PRP elixir are those interested in a non-invasive method to stimulate the production of collagen, improving their overall skin texture and elasticity. This topical is ideal for patients experiencing mild to moderate levels of skin laxity and facial volume loss. Because this treatment uses plasma derived from the patient’s own blood, the chances of an allergic reaction are minimized. (2)

Benefits of Topical Rejuran

Rejuran is often used to help promote faster skin healing and cell regeneration. Rejuran is a very hydrating treatment, offering an improvement in overall skin elasticity and tone. Additionally, patients may experience a reduction in wrinkles, fine lines, and other visual signs of aging.

Benefits of Topical Exosomes

Individuals who may be interested in experiencing the benefits of topical exosomes are those interested in reducing inflammation and speeding up wound healing, especially after a microneedling or laser treatment. (4) Additionally, patients who undergo this treatment often see enhanced elastin and collagen production, as well as an overall improvement in physical appearance.

Ideal Candidates

Each candidate for our elixir treatments should be in good overall health, and free of any underlying medical conditions. Candidates for our elixir treatments are ideally those who are planning on undergoing a skin resurfacing treatment and want a more comprehensive level of rejuvenation and revitalization.

At each patient’s initial consultation, our team will perform a comprehensive evaluation, determining which elixir is most beneficial when complementing their skin treatment.

Preparation and Procedure

Elixirs Dr. Alexander Ovchinsky

A full preparations list will be provided for each patient at their personal consultation after a treatment plan is established, however, preparation for our elixir treatments is fairly simple. Patients should ensure they are eating nutritiously and staying hydrated before the procedure. They will also need to temporarily stop taking medications and supplements that thin your blood. If applicable, patients should also refrain from smoking and the consumption of alcohol until fully healed.

On the day of their procedure, patients should make sure they arrive with a clean face, free of any makeup and skincare. Patients will first undergo their chosen resurfacing treatment to help revitalize the appearance of their facial skin. Once their procedure has been completed, their specialist will carefully apply their elixir of choice onto the treated area. While the duration of each patient’s treatment may vary, the application of the elixir can be quite quick.

Recovery

Each of our elixir treatments is designed to help each patient look and feel confident. Because our elixir treatments are non-invasive on their own, there is little to no downtime associated with them. However, these elixirs are designed to be applied following a microneedling or lasering treatment, meaning patients can expect a varied recovery timeline.

Following their resurfacing treatment and elixir application, patients can expect mild swelling and redness in the treated area. The skin may feel more sensitive, especially to the sun, making it essential to wear sunscreen to avoid irritation. As the skin continues to regenerate over the following few days, flaking or dryness may be experienced, but each patient’s specialist can recommend products and other ways to manage these effects. (5) Additionally, makeup and other harsh skincare products should be avoided for at least 24 hours following treatment.

Results

After recovering from their treatment, patients will be able to not only see an improvement from their procedure itself but also from the effects of their chosen elixir. While each elixir offers slightly different benefits, patients can expect to see smoother, more radiant skin, alongside an improvement in its texture, tone, and overall quality. Signs of facial aging can also be minimized, with many patients experiencing an overall reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

Corresponding Treatments

Our elixirs are designed to complement skin resurfacing treatments, like our DermaPen microneedling treatment and Laser Micropeel procedure.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses multiple rows of thin needles to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. When triggered, the body will start to produce more collagen, leading to an improvement in the texture, tone, and overall quality of the skin and tissue.

Our Laser Micropeel treatment is a skin resurfacing treatment that uses controlled laser energy to remove the outermost layer of the skin. This process stimulates the production of new skin cells, reduces the size of the pores, and eliminates the appearance of fine lines and age spots. By vitalizing new cell growth, patients will be able to achieve tighter, more youthful skin.
